"Alcohol abuse"

About: Alcohol and Drug Counselling - Kingaroy (Lives Lived Well) Kingaroy Hospital

(as a service user),

Late last year was the start of a new life. I was arrested in the early hours of the morning for drink driving. That seems bad enough. The reality of it was that I didn't remember the 8 hours prior. A deadly mixture of mental health prescription drugs, physical illness and alcohol turned my brain to mush and during and after being arrested I suffered greatly. Paranoia, scarred and worrying thoughts and anger filled my head and I started to become violent. When I could not explain where I had been, who I had seen, or even be sure that I hadn't hurt anybody, I became aware of the lack of control I had over myself. I was taken to Kingaroy Hospital and placed under suicide watch.
