I recently gave birth to my first child at Box Hill hospital.

I recommend Box Hill due to the care I received during my delivery. The midwives and registrar were amazing - they demonstrated kindness and compassion and went above and beyond for me. They kept me calm and made me feel safe.

I was able to get a single room, which was fantastic as it enabled my husband to stay with me and our baby. Also, as the hospital was redeveloped recently, the facilities were new which made our stay very pleasant.

A big thank you to Vanessa, Robyn and Amy for the safe delivery of my baby.

Dear First Baby

First of all, congratulations on the birth of your new baby - how exciting for you and your family too. There's no doubt about it, babies bring immense joy to all and they certainly help put the rest of our lives into perspective. This story is a great start to my day!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write and provide your feedback too. It's greatly appreciated and I will have much pleasure in passing this on to Vanessa, Robyn and Amy, to the manager of the Maternity Ward and the Box Hill Hospital management team. We are having afternoon tea with the staff next week to celebrate the 200th story on Patient Opinion which was another GREAT story on our maternity service and the wonderful staff.

I think your story once again highlights the importance of kindness and compassion and the difference it makes for all of us as patients and also, as staff.
