"Staff at Angliss Hospital made a very difficult week easier."

About: Angliss Hospital

(as the patient),

After being in hospital in regional Victoria for several days due to raised blood pressure and preclampsia in a twin pregnancy, my condition became severe quite quickly and a decision was made that I would need to deliver the babies. Due to a high number of births at the hospital I was in, I wasn't able to deliver my babies there and was rushed to the Angliss Hospital via ambulance around midnight. It was a very scary and traumatic experience as I was not only very sick but also worried about my babies. We arrived at the Angliss a little after 2am and the babies were delivered around 4am. I spent 24 hours in a room with a nurse to myself and was monitored every half hour before being moved to the ward. The medical team including theatre staff, midwives and doctors were amazing. This made a very difficult week a little easier. Both my partner and I were very happy with how caring, reassuring and informative all the staff were.

Dear Mother of Twins

First of all, thank you so much for sharing your story on Patient Opinion. I was so pleased to read about the care and attention which you received and what a relief that must have been after all that you, your babies and your partner had endured in the period leading up to the delivery. I can see that this must have been a most worrying and traumatic time for you.

And thank you also for taking the time to provide your feedback in what must be very busy times for you and your babies. I will have great pleasure in forwarding this on to the Angliss staff and the local management team too -its always lovely to receive such positive feedback and it always serves as reminder as to what is important for our patients - being caring, reassuring and always keeping patients informed.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby twins and I trust that all is going well for you and your growing family.

Take care and kind regards, Alan Lilly.
