I presented to ED in the morning with? Appendicitis. I was greeted at the triage desk by nurse Jacob who maintained a very professional manner, I was taken straight to a cubicle were I received brilliant care from nurse Julianne and doctor Clement. I was then taken for an ultrasound an hour later and then diagnosed with appendicitis. I was seen by general surgeon Mohammad an hour after that who agreed I needed an appendectomy but informed me that it wouldn’t be done until the following day. I was allocated a bed on 1 north and promptly escorted and settled. The 1 north staff I saw were very lovely and caring. My appendix was removed 2 days after presentation and I was discharged the next day.
In the beginning I was hesitant to present to Maroondah but the empathy, professionalism and exceptional care I received while being a patient was amazing. Next time there will be no hesitation.
