I'm an from overseas, and since I got pregnant, me and my husband we were quite worried to face a pregnancy in a foreign country away from our family.

Two weeks ago I gave birth to our beautiful girl at Box Hill Hospital and I can tell you now without any doubt that the way I've been treated during all my pregnancy, labour and after birth it's been amazing.

Halfway through my pregancy I met Vanessa, a midwife that followed my gestation. She is just great and her job during my labour and also now after the birth it's been impeccable.

I really want to thank all the staff in the maternity ward, Bree and all the midwives that look after us and made us feel calm and secure.

A huge thank you to Vanessa and her invaluable help.

First of all, congratulations to you and your husband on the birth of your new baby girl - how exciting for you all and secondly, thanks very much for sharing your story on Patient Opinion about your very positive experience with Vanessa and our Eastern Health birthing service at Box Hill Hospital. I am so pleased to read about your experience and having had afternoon tea with the staff there last week, I now know who you are talking about when you refer to Vanessa and Bree. They do indeed do a great job and will be thrilled to receive your feedback which I will send on to them and the local management team too.

Being away from your family at times like this can indeed be quite daunting and so it's great to see that we were able to assist you during this period and go some way to reducing what may otherwise be an anxious time for you and your husband.
