"Positive Birthing experience with KYM Program at Box Hill"

For both my pregnancies & births, I have had the incredible good fortune to be under the care & guidance of midwives extraordinaire Kelly & Robyn of the Know Your Midwife (KYM) program at Box Hill Maternity.

I had two wonderful, positive experiences throughout pregnancy, the birth & post natal, largely due to the kindness, dedication & first class continuity of care provided by these two amazing women of the KYM program. At all times I was confident that I was in the best of hands, and that when the time came to give birth to my babies, I would know the midwife in the room with me, she would know me, and we would have minimal interruption from outside the room during the course of the birth. And this is how it was. The first birth I was cared for exclusively by Kelly - through a long overnight labour. Always there, reassuring & coaching, giving me confidence. My second child decided to come 10 days before the due date & my primary midwife (again Kelly) was out of town. So Robyn was there for me, at the hospital before I arrived preparing for the birth. She guided me through my second, fast & furious labour, with supreme calmness & kindness, whilst Kelly was rushing back from the country to be at the birth also. So in the end, I had the two most amazing midwives working side by side to help me birth my second baby. I couldn't have wished for a better outcome or experience! The post natal care also was second to none.

I could go on....... But in short, the KYM program, and midwives Kelly & Robyn, should be seen as examples of "world's best practice" in Maternal care.
