"Waiting time for surgery"

About: Ipswich Hospital

(as the patient),

Last year my doctor put in for a referral to have surgery at the Ipswich Hospital on a large tear in my stomach. I am still waiting for the surgery and the tear is getting bigger. I spoke to a woman at the Ipswich Hospital shortly after this and she advised me it would be a year just to see the specialist and then it could be another year to have surgery. Meanwhile, more health issues seem to be arising because of this and my job is beginning to be affected because I am limited in what I can do. I do love the Ipswich Hospital because the staff are wonderful, but I feel like I am unimportant and my doctor is now telling me that this issue is also causing heightened CEA levels and also CA 125 has jumped from 18 last year to 30 this year. Obviously, my health is not urgent to these people who are working in the profession, but it is important and urgent to me.
