About: The Townsville Hospital

(as the patient),

I recently wrote to you about my lack of support in getting a colonoscopy and ended up having one done privately (Lack of resources can't cope with demand) .  It came back positive and have been put into the system to receive the chemo / radium mix.

Imagine my disappointment when I go through all the tests and am about to start my first radium treatment when I ask when am I going to start chemo, the therapist was amazed that I had not started and I was asked to go home. I had a phone call to say I had three appointments the next day to start chemo.  So, I took lunch and a book prepared to wait.  However, I saw the chemo nurse and was told I was the second person in 3 days that this had happened to. I then was told there would be no chemo starting as the MI dept had lost the consent form. As Varma had been away, there had been nobody to contact, so I was sent home again.

So, the radium has been put back for another week.

When is the efficiency of the hospital going to improve and one department start to liason with the others?
