"Asked to put my courage on hold."

About: Central Highlands Healthcare GPs in the Flynn Electoral District

(as the patient),

After years of living with anxiety I finally built the courage to get some help. I booked my appointment. I drive to the appointment where I had an anxiety attack in the car park. After calming myself I took myself in, loaded with tears and told the admin lady I was here. I waited and was called in. Sitting in that seat I felt my chest tighten and my breathe hard to come by. The doctor asked if I was ok. I started telling him, through gasping for breathe that I was here for anxiety. He looked at me concerned and went to speak. Then his mobile phone rang. He answered it. It was a lady wanting to talk to him about his availability for locum hours. Apparently my struggle for breathing must have irritated him as he raised his hand with his pointer finger up. He continued with the conversation for a while. I could hear everything through the mobile. When he finally ended the call he turned and asked 'now where were we? ' He prescribed me some antidepressants and told me to come back in a month. This freaked me out but I was determined to get a hold on this. A week prior to my appointment I received a text saying he was no longer available and I had to ring to reschedule. I just can't bring myself to go back to him. But I dont want to go through that again with someone else.
