"How amazing Townsville Hospital is"

About: The Townsville Hospital

(as the patient),

I was an older new mum to be with placenta previa who had to come in for an emergency c section. I had been in for previous night stays due to smaller bleeds. This hospital and its staff deserve an award. Every single doctor, mid wife, nurse and all other staff I saw have been caring, informative, precessional, kind, and turned an extremely tough day into one of the best days of my life. I've felt informed, and despite the c section really felt like I got that 'birth' moment. My after care and recovery have been awesome and the help with this and throughout has been remarkable. I want to really thank all the staff here in the maternity unit and the special care unit where baby was... I will tell everyone who will listen about my experience and my next baby will be born no where else. Please, please pass on my comments and tell them to keep up the hard and amazing work they do.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your bub! That is wonderful!

Thank you so much for sharing your kind words on Patient Opinion. I totally agree with you - our staff do deserve an award – they work hard every day to help ease suffering, alleviate people’s fears and contribute in making patients’ lives better!

You have highlighted for me some really important points in health care, in that it’s not only the things that we do, it’s how we do them that have such an impact others – the fact that you have felt informed and that your expectations, even though were different to your original plan, were positively fulfilled – I agree, that is awesome!

I will have great pleasure passing on your story to the departments – I’m sure it will put a smile many faces.
