About: Box Hill Hospital Eastern @ Home (Eastern Health)

(as the patient),

I am a visitor from overseas and became sick while staying with my family in Melbourne. I got severe and unbearable stomach pain all of a sudden and the right eye got swallowed and fully closed. I was taken by my son to the Emergency Department of Eastern Health Hospital in Box Hill, where I was treated and transferred to Ward in 8th & then in 6th level for further diagnosis and treatment.

In the ward, the team of doctors lead by Dr Tony made physical examination/investigation, analysed, conducted blood sample tests and within a very short period of admission, firmly concluded that I was affected with stomach ulcer, perforation in stomach and bacterinia in the blood stream and started appropriate medication immediately. I was treated as inpatient for a week and for 9 more days in hospital at home for giving antibiotics through IV by home doctor.

I am writing to express my heart felt thanks and the excellent service offered by the individual doctors and the over all wonderful service by the entire Boxhill hospital staff I saw, as a single unit.

When we tried to fly back home in the middle of the treatment since we had already booked the tickets, Dr Tony took special care and explained in detail regarding the seriousness of the disease, what is happening all along from the time of admission, the inherent implications while flying and the need to take continued treatment to come out of the clutches of the bacterinia.

I was also examined by various doctors team from Medical, Surgical, Specialists, Infectious Disease, Home Doctor and everyone I saw rendered a dedicated service smilingly. All of them listened to me patiently, explained politely and treated kindly.

Ms Maria from Patient Accounts Department extended an outstanding support by furnishing the required documents for my insurer and interacted with them for settling the claim and she was very polite and courteous. I am short of words in explaining how courteous she is.

Not only the Doctors, but also other paramedical staffs like Nurses in ward 8. 1 and 6. 1, Radiography, Pathology, Pharma were also very courteous towards me apart from their duty consciousness.

Dr. Ashley, Dr. Harsha, , Dr.Roger,Dr. Jonathan, Dr. Chole, Dr. Aavinthan, Dr. Daniel, Prof. (Infectious Disease), Dr. Jillian (Infections Disease), Dr. Jin (Surgeon) Dr. Anshini (Surgeon), Jeenal (Pharmacy), Dr. Manfred ( Radiology) are to name a few I remember.

As I am put in Hospital at Home program, the Doctors and Nurse from the Eastern @ Home took excellent care with a polite service

The system and procedure followed judiciously by the hospital is astonishing.

The overall services of the hospital is exemplary, outstanding and there is no words to express my feelings. I am very much doubtful whether I would have received such a medical care elsewhere.

Through this mail, I wish to convey my " Thankfulness and Indebtedness " to the hospital and its Doctors & Paramedical Team whose wholehearted services and timely right treatment brought me back from a life threatening condition.

I was so pleased to read about your very positive experience at Box Hill Hospital. It is so lovely to hear that you had such a terrific experience with everyone that you came into contact with - from the doctors and nurses to the Eastern@Home staff and Maria in accounts.
