The care in day surgery was excellent however there is a lot of noise from the clinics which are positioned right beside day surgery where patients are either waiting for surgery or recovery post operation. I felt I couldn't properly recovery after my surgery due to the constant chat and noise from the clinics directly beside day surgery. There seems to be a lot of people traffic and constant noise due to 2 clinics which are beside a day surgery unit, which I think is inappropriate for patients recovering from surgery.

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the care that you received during your day surgery stay at Broome Hospital, I am sorry that this was overshadowed by your experience with noise in the clinics running next to the recovery bays. I acknowledge your comment and agree that these clinic areas can often get very busy and there is a high demand on some days for this clinical space.

To address your feedback I will communicate directly with the Coordinator of Nursing to give some education to staff regarding noise levels. I can also inform you that the executive have recognised that we may have to expand space in this area and are currently discussing plans to utilise other rooms at the hospital from some of these clinic services.
