"Cold meals"

Dear Cold Meals

Thank you for your feedback. At Boort District Health (BDH) we pride ourselves on an open approach to feedback and do appreciate the time and effort you have taken in which to provide us your observations and comments. In drawing some succinct details from the feedback I will provide information in response to the following;

1. Meals that were either cold or just warm and did require microwaving.

Action arising

a. Discussions have been held with the cooks and food and domestic staff at a recent huddle and they have been instructed to take care to ensure that meals are of the quality and temperature expected.

b. I shall arrange to do some random audits on meals as they arrive to patients and residents as part of an internal audit process.

c. Also please note we are at this very moment going through a process and systems review working with staff to ensure that the quality, temperature and taste of meals are in line with patient/resident expectations and requirements under food handling and safety standards.

I wish to assure your comments have resulted in actions and further discussions,meetings, audits and reviews are now in place to ensure quality of care and service provided in the provision of meals can best as practicable meet the needs of both patients and residents.
