Thank you for your feedback. I do apologise for the late follow up but please know your feedback is important to us. At Boort District Health (BDH) we pride ourselves on an open approach to feedback and do appreciate the time and effort you have taken in which to provide us your observations and comments.

1. Possible screens to cover lounge area.

a. Discussions have been held on the feedback you have provided and the executive and management team have taken your concerns most seriously.

Unfortunately due to the design and safety reasons for clear walk way areas the possibility of screening is seen as not practicable. This is not to suggest I do not share your concerns that persons may find persons with variant ages and variant levels of health needs daunting. The real issue here is we need to inform and educate other residents and family members of the need to be respectful and show understanding to others whom reside in our aged care facility. All have equal rights as residents living in our aged care facility.

b. Agenda for next resident and family meeting.

At the next residents and family meeting I will talk to these matters and seek to inform and educate on the need for respect, compassion and empathy for all those whom reside in our aged residential care facility. I am hopeful this will help resolve some of your concern. Also please note with the second stage there will be a greater sharing of space with the introduction of the activities space that may help alleviate pressures on uses of space as well.
