"Experience at Maroondah Hospital."

I recently arrived home after yet another one of my many admissions to Maroondah Hospital and decided that it would be unfair on my part not to share my experience at the hospital. I am a chronic asthmatic and in patients like me, timely action is the need of the moment, a need which was well taken care of.

Ward #3/North was where I was treated and cared for. What a marvelous place indeed, with a bunch of caring staff who made me feel cared for and important! ! If not for them, I am sure my recovery would have been slower too.

While the ward is maintained spotlessly clean, the nursing staff work very hard to make every patient and their families comfortable. This is a place of action, where one can see plainly overworked staff attending to patients with a smile. I am a very fussy person when it comes to my medication and treatment, and they did not miss a beat with every medication brought over on time correctly. They even made it a point to liaise with the kitchen staff to ensure that my food was ordered and arranged for. No sooner I was brought up to the ward from the Emergency Department.

Prior to being brought up to Ward #3/North, I had a small issue at the Emergency Department which was very depressing and hurtful. However, no sooner I spoke about my discomfort to the Ward Nurse Manager and she made it a point to arrange for someone from ED to come over and have a chat with me to resolve the problem. This was a very good action of care, which I appreciate very much.

My sincere thanks to all at Maroondah hospital who work so hard to improve things for the patients. I am just so grateful.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide your feedback on patient Opinion. It is wonderful to hear that the staff took such great care of you during your admission. I particularly note your comments re the Ward Nurse Manager - Chris. I will make sure your feedback is provided to her and the whole team.

Whilst I am disappointed there was an issue in the Emergency Department, I am pleased to see you were listened to and action taken. We have been focusing on Courtesy and Kindness everywhere and every time, so your feedback shows me that while we might not get it quite right each time, you felt your concerns were taken seriously.

I hope you are well on the way to recovery Goycho and trust next time you need to use the terrific services at Maroondah Hospital that your experience will be even better.
