"My Volunteering Experience at Drug Arm"

About: Community And Family Support Service (CAFSS) - Drug ARM - Warradale Healthy Options Australia

(as a volunteer/advocate),

I have recently been volunteering at Drug Arm. During my time, I have learnt a number of important lessons. Firstly, that each person's story is different. People tend to have a specific point of view or perspective of those who use drugs and alcohol, however, each person's story is different - everybody has their own journey. At the end of the day, each person deserves to be heard, believed and empowered. The volunteer team at Drug Arm is extremely supportive, and have guided me in my journey of becoming a counsellor. I encourage anyone who is looking for an opportunity to volunteer, to consider Drug Arm.

Hi Pianoforte16,

Your clients are very lucky to have you as their worker. To know that each client's story and journey is different and your belief that they are individually all deserving of empowerment is the most powerful tool you can give to your client.

We thank you for that compassion and commitment you have given to Drug ARM.

Kind regards,

Debby
