I just wanted to write and say that I was impressed with the antenatal and maternity care at Fiona Stanley Hospital when I recently gave birth to my second child.
The antenatal service is obviously catering for a large number of people, but the midwives and admin staff were friendly, and the obstetricians were willing to spend the time addressing any questions I had. As we travelled from regional WA, the staff were also appreciative of our needs when making appointments and booking scans for the additional checks that we required. The senior consultant we had on our last appointment was especially great at outlining a plan for the upcoming labour that would give us the best chance of having the birth that we wanted (which it did).
We had a fantastic midwife during our birth, who was very supportive and happy to support my partner and I with any requests we had during the labour and the facilities were great.
The visiting midwife service was also great with their follow up, and provided us with some extra care so that we could feel that things were on track with our little one before we travelled back to regional WA.
