"Emergency Visit."

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I visited the emergency after severely cutting my thumb with a handsaw (yep, stupid).

I was given outstanding attention and treatment. It was a very busy day and the wait was long but the care and professionalism of the ER staff was outstanding.

My thumb underwent an X-ray and stitches were provided by an excellent nurse by the name of Angela who was caring, considerate and highly professional.

In a world where it appears we complain and don't thank anyone for our excellent healthcare, please convey my thanks to the staff.

Dear Injured man

Thank you so much for taking the time to recognise the efforts of the staff in the Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department and particularly Angela. I certainly appreciate that you have gone out of your way to express your positive experience on Patient Opinion and I will certainly pass on your thanks for the care and assistance we were able to provide.

Even though you would never have planned to experience the care in the Emergency Department, sometimes it is the best place to be. I'm sorry you had to wait the length of time you did, but pleased the care you received was professional and such a positive experience.

I hope you are now on the road to recovery and are laying off the jobs requiring a handsaw for the time being!

Take care and many thanks again.

Kind regards

David
