"Waiting room boredom"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

I was in the surgical admissions department at Box Hill Hospital for surgery and in the two waiting rooms they have, there are no TV's. Only radios that don't work very well. I was very bored. I had to wait for a few hours listening to static radio/occasional music

Many thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback on Patient Opinion. I am sorry this was your experience in surgical admissions at Box Hill Hospital.

We have undertaken a review of waiting areas at Box Hill Hospital and are in the process of making improvements to make the environments more appealing.

As a result of your feedback, I will seek confirmation of the timelines for these improvements to be made so the waiting times of others is improved.

Please accept my apologies for the timeframe in providing a further update following your comments regarding the waiting areas in the surgical admissions area.

I am pleased to let you know that based on your feedback, we have installed a television into the waiting area that people spend most time in. The subsequent feedback we have received is really positive so I wanted to thank you as this has made a real difference to patients and families awaiting elective surgery at Box Hill Hospital.
