"I was trying to get my sister help with her ice addiction."

About: Charters Towers Hospital

(as a relative),

Recently I had to have my sibling removed by police and ambulance because they were experiencing withdrawal from using the drug ice. My sibling went to Charters Towers Hospital and had an assessment done with Charters Towers Mental Health and discharged by lunch time without notifying me as I am next of kin, but I did inform Charters Towers Hospital that I could not bring my sibling back home. I organised other accommodation for my sibling. Later in the day I had them removed 3 more times from my house the last time my sibling had a major psychotic episode and was removed again by police and ambulance and taken to Charters Towers Hospital and admitted over night to be reassessed in the morning by Mental Health. With me trying to tell Mental Health the severity of the situation, Charters Towers Mental Health disregarded anything I had to say and believed my very ill sibling that there wasn't anything wrong. My sibling was discharged with them believing that they will come back to the services and see ATODS (Alcohol, Tobago and Other Drugs) voluntarily. I believe the way I was treated on the phone and how the situation was handled was unacceptable and unprofessional.
