"Exceptional care at Royal Perth Hospital"

About: Royal Perth Hospital

(as the patient),

At a party I was tackled by a friend - bit of messing about that went horribly wrong. The next day I was in incredible pain and visited the GP who thought I had a spinal fracture.

I was sent immediately to Royal Perth Hospital for assessment. I was in extreme pain and this was my first real trauma experience.

The triage nurse was lovely and dealt with me straight away. I was taken through to the Emergency area and a lovely nurse Karina, and Dr Lara looked after me, took care of me and explained everything that was happening and made me feel calmer about what was happening. I was sent for scans that I never experienced before - with lovely staff explaining everything to me and why each test was necessary.

I was later moved to the spinal ward for a few nights under the care of Mr W and his team. The nurses, and doctors I saw I thought were all very lovely, professional and caring.

I have soft tissue damage but the outcome could have been a lot worse- I cannot thank the staff at Royal Perth Hospital enough for the wonderful care I was given. My thanks to everyone who helped me. This is a wonderful Hospital.

Dear Miami J,

Thank you for taking the time to write. Firstly I am pleased to hear that you are on the road to recovery. We take all feedback extremely seriously as it all helps guide and inform us as to which aspects of care we need do to more of as well as highlighting those areas that may need extra support to improve the quality of care that is being provided.

Getting positive feedback as you know does help lift staff and helps motivate many to strive for even higher standards. I have also taken the liberty of sharing your thoughts and feedback with the teams that were involved in your care and you won’t be surprised to hear that they were universally thrilled.

Once again thank you for taking the time to write and feedback

I wish you all the best for 2017

Dr Aresh Anwar,

Executive Director,

Royal Perth Bentley Hospital Group
