"I felt we received rude and inappropraite treatment"

I attended Caboolture Hospital ED department with my child and felt I was treated extremely rudely by the treating doctor. My child who has a long history of ear problems and hospitalization due to this, was told that they would get a brain abscess if they did not allow the doctor to put ear drops in their ear. When my child hesitated, I tried to calm them to allow treatment and the doctor told us that he would leave and come back in 5 minutes and if we were not there he would know that my child does not want to get better and wants to get a brain abscess. He then left without addressing me at all. When I spoke with the Team Leader in the department I felt that she ignored my concerns and told me she could not help as she was not present during the consultation. We left and my child has subsequently received effective treatment from a GP, including receiving the required ear drops in a patient and understanding manner.
