"I cannot speak highly enough about the performance of staff at Three Springs Hospital."

About: North Midlands Health Service

(as a relative),

Prior to commencing a long trip to return to his farm, my husband was feeling unwell. A decision was made to take him to North Midlands Health Service - Three Springs Hospital, unfortunately he passed out and an ambulance was called to take him to A&E. Prior to ambulance arriving and during ambulance trip he was going in and out of consciousness. On arrival at hospital he was taken straight into A&E, initially he was able to converse with medical staff but then lost consciousness and experienced a heart arrest. A defibrillator was attached to him, however when the machine voice was indicating "press harder" or something similar, I left the room. I returned about 25 minutes later and my husband was back "living" after the medical staff had worked on him for at least 20 minutes and managed to get his heart beating again. Throughout the whole ordeal there was no doctor present only the nursing staff, the RN was actually on her way back from Perth and was called in and handled the whole situation. Once stabilised the patient was transfer to SCGH (Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital) via RFDS. My husband and I cannot speak highly enough about the performance of hospital staff throughout this ordeal.
