"Maffra Hospital"

About: Maffra District Hospital

(as a relative),

Relative in McDonald wing with sudden health decline needed acute care. Rather than being transferred to Sale Hospital was instead moved to a sub acute bed closer to nurses station. This meant resident (patient) & staff already had knowledge of one another & new rapports did not need to be established. Family members also felt comfortable with facility & staff & did not have to travel the little extra distance to Sale to visit.

They just need to update their old furnishings and sub-acute care room.

Dear Surgery

Thank you for your feedback which I will take pleasure in passing onto the staff at Maffra Hospital.

I will talk with our senior manager at Maffra along with our engineering supervisor to determine what we can do in the short term.

In the second half of this year we expect to Master Plan the entire facility as the next step in the process to renovate or rebuild the entire facility.

Thanks again for telling us your story.

Kind regards

Frank

Dear Surgery

Today staff at Maffra Hospital decided what new furniture is required and we approved the purchase of the furniture.

Thank you for helping us to make this improvement.

Kind regards

Frank

Update posted by surgery (a relative)

Thank you Frank. Small improvements do give quality and value to patients+families. How wonderful the staff have had the opportunity for input! My family looks forward to seeing these enhancements. Regards

Dear Surgery

I have realised that I didn't tick the "we have made a change" button.

It is obviously some time since we purchased the new furniture.

We have other exciting things happening at Maffra Hospital including the development of new allied health and activity area including a lot of new equipment.

We have also recruited additional allied health staff to be based at the Maffra Hospital to support our patients, aged care residents and community clients.

I am really excited that the Department of Health and Human Services has approved our submission to undertake master planning (feasibility and concept architectural plans) for the redevelopment of Maffra Hospital and McDonald Wing. This preliminary work will hopefully start in the next month or two.

All the best

Frank
