"A lack of information lead to further problems."

About: Baringa Private Hospital Coffs Harbour Health Campus

(as the patient),

My experience with this hospital. Major lack of duty of care. I had reconstructive surgery.  I only stayed for 24 hours as I paid cash. When I was discharged there was no information provided about post-operative problems. Within several days I developed migraine headaches, my vision also affected. I rang my surgeon, concerned. I asked if I could have blood clots on the brain. The symptoms for DVT  (Deep Vein Thrombosis) are cramps in your leg, I was unaware (as the hospital did not provide this information). I had been suffering with cramps. The doctor’s secretary advised that I should make my way ASAP to The Base Hospital. I was then admitted through emergency with blood clots in both my lungs. I have now spent a week in hospital treating this major problem. I have been very sick. If Baringa had provided this information, I would not be in this position today. Now I have to take blood thinning drugs for the next 6 months. All I've heard from Baringa is wanting more money. Shame on you.
