"Domestic Violence"

About: Yarra Valley Community Health - Yarra Junction

(as the patient),

I was seeing a domestic violence counsellor at Eastern Health - the Community Health Service in Yarra Junction Victoria and then they stopped providing the service. I called there to make another appointment with the counsellor who has helped me over the years and they told me they no longer provide a domestic violence service, they just have a general counsellor that I can see. This is not good for me. The experts say that the best type of counselling for domestic violence is to see a specialist in the area, not a general counsellor. Why would they do this? I am now back to a place of trauma with no one to talk to or understand and will need to travel to another service when I can get away safely.
