I recently completed a seven week program of two days per week and two hours each day. The program was 1 hour of physio followed by one hour of theory relating to disease effects and possible remedies. I was referred to the program by the Oncology unit at Box Hill Hospital.
The program was run by Peter and Amy, with the assistance of several others at Eastern Health, Wantirna.
The physio was individually designed after initial physical testing to establish a starting benchmark and then amended each week where necessary to challenge each participant. This physio was a well considered and constructed program which all of the participants found both beneficial and enjoyable and which provided a final benchmark showing a quantitative improvement in general movement and strength conditioning.
I thought the theory aspect was informative and well handled by each presenter, but needed some consideration regarding repetition and a focus on the consolidation of subject matter to possibly save several hours for other matters to be addressed.
Overall, I found the program to have been extremely beneficial and presented in the most professional and caring manner by the staff.
In short, an outstanding program delivered by outstanding people.
