"Exmouth Hospital"

About: Exmouth Health Service

(as the patient),

The price of a visit to a doctor at Exmouth Hospital for non Medicare card holders is outrageous. Almost $300 just to speak to a doctor! Standard overseas health insurance required by visa holders only reimburses $30! Everywhere else in Australia I have never paid more than $80 for an outpatient doctor visit!

Dear U hapy,

Thank you for your feedback on Patient Opinion. I acknowledge your concerns around the cost of an outpatient appointment. There is currently no private General Practitioner (GP) located in Exmouth and this service is being provided by WA Country Health Service (WACHS) at the Exmouth Hospital. The fee charged at the Exmouth Hospital for a GP appointment is the standard outpatient attendance fee which Medicare ineligible patients are charged at all Western Australia public hospitals as set out in the WA Department of Health Fees and Charges Manual.

Thanks again for taking the time to write and I wish you all the best.

Kind regards

Michele
