(as the patient),

I am a doctor myself and developed dehydration following a bout of gastroenteritis/food poisoning. I knew I needed IV fluid rehydration for myself and also so I could continue breastfeeding my young baby and was anxious that I'd be kept waiting a long time and my baby would miss a feed whilst I was away from them. The staff were very understanding of my fears and worked hard to expedite my care and get me home asap. The treatment worked so well, so quickly, and I was home for the baby's next feed. I'm extremely grateful for the excellent care which took my particular circumstances into account. Thank you to Dr Bronwyn and NUM (Nurse Unit Manager) Julie and all the other ED staff.
