I stayed for three nights at the Sydney Eye Hospital and would like to say that the staff where at all times exceptional, in particular two nurses, one was Helen who looked after me so well, she was compassionate, helpful and a very caring nurse. The other nurse I only had for one day as she moved upstairs to look after another lady, unfortunately I can't remember her name other than it started with an N. I could not believe how wonderful she was to a patient opposite me who needed such a lot of looking after and care, she spoke so lovely to this patient I was impressed. She treated me wonderfully too. So this is a very deserved thank you to the staff while I was in their care.
Unfortunately in regards to the food, it was dreadful, absolutely horrid. The pumpkin soup which was in one of those plastic dishes that you pull back the film on the top of the soup was a horrible brown slime! The pea soup was a glug! The carrots were as hard as a rock! Mashed potato came with most meals and was just terrible. Needless to say I didn't eat anything except the sandwiches or bread. Once the kitchen staff told me they didn't have any bread as it didn't come in! I wondered why they couldn't go to a shop and buy some! Anyway this is the only disappointing thing I have to say about the hospital.
