"Paediatric Emergency Department outstanding at Austin Hospital"

I took my young son to Austin Hospital Emergency recently and I'd like to thank the staff who cared for him. Every staff member who interacted with us was excellent. I'd like to particularly thank Luke, Clara, Sarah and Nicole in the Paediatric Emergency Department for their care of us both. I feel very grateful that we have access to such caring, professional staff at our public hospitals. Despite having to be in the Emergency Department for about 15 hours due to the fact that no beds were available in the entire hospital, I felt that my son's medical care was a priority.

A suggestion I'd like to make about car parking: As I drove to the hospital with my son I did not drop him off at Emergency and then park the car, I drove to the car park first and then tried to enter the hospital from the car park (quite late in the evening). I understand that due to security concerns some lifts are closed after hours but the signage could be improved. I parked on level B1, then carried my son and our belongings to three different entrances before I read a sign telling me to go to B3. I then had to go back to the car and was uncertain how to get to B3 and then which lifts to use. In such a stressful time, perhaps the signage needs to be clearer.
