"Emergency treatment at Broome Hospital"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

Earlier this year my wife and I were 3 weeks into our planned 8 week holiday when she became a little unwell at Derby. By the time we arrived at Broome she had become extremely sick and we attended Broome ED for urgent medical assistance. Not long after she was admitted to the wards for further treatment. The doctors had diagnosed acute bowel infection and operated on her 4 days later. During her 3 week stay in the hospital we have nothing but the highest of praise for the doctors, nurses. physios, kitchen staff and the cleaning staff whom continually work in a high pressure environment. It would be remiss of us if we did not pass on a special thank you to Marg and Stacey (stoma nurse) for their extra help and guidance during this trying time. We will return to Broome to give our personal thanks when my wife is well enough to travel.

Dear A very thankful husband

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. It is exciting to be on an adventure and holidays but always a stress if you become unwell, especially when you are away from home.

I am pleased to hear your wife was well cared for throughout her stay. It is always humbling to hear words of thanks and praise. I will pass on your kind words to all mentioned.

I hope your wife is making a speedy recovery and you have a chance to resume your travels in the not to distant future.

Kind regards

Maureen Crowther
