"Appendectomy - the care and treatment I received"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Hi, I was recently admitted to the Ipswich ED for suspected appendicitis. I was operated on the following morning to remove my appendix. I took a lot longer to heal then the normal 5 days in hospital and the whole time the nurses and doctors showed me nothing but care. I really need to shout out to the nurses in ward 4E. They were all extremely wonderful, caring nurses who work hard and I wish I could of thanked them in person for the care and support they gave me.

Dear wonderful treatment

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We know that surgery can be a very unsettling experience, so we are delighted to hear that our staff were kind, friendly and helpful. Sorry to hear that your stay with us was a little longer than expected but we are delighted to hear of the wonderful care you were provided by the surgical team. We are very proud of our nursing team in Ward 4E and the culture of caring they have developed.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please contact a Senior Consumer Liaison Officer during business hours on 0409 275 503 or email at wmh.clo@health.qld.gov.au.

Kind regards

Consumer Liaison Office
