About: Geraldton Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My child dislocated their shoulder in a football game we drove for one and a half hours to reach hospital. My child was in a lot of discomfort on arrival, they was seen straight away and all care was given very efficiently and quickly. My child's shoulder was put back in and X-rays were taken.

Dear Relieved parent

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience on Patient Opinion. I was so pleased to read of the excellent care your child received. As a mother myself I know how stressful it can be when your child is unwell and in your case particularly distressing that you had such a long distance to travel to receive medical care. Geraldton Hospital Emergency Department uses the Australian Triage Score system to prioritise patients based on how unwell they are, which includes the level of discomfort your child was experiencing, and use the information to formulate action based on the assessment. Our dedicated staff work hard at providing safe and effective patient centred care and your feedback will be shared with the team and I know they will be pleased to hear that you were happy with the care your child received.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your story on Patient Opinion. I hope your child has made a speedy recovery and is back playing football again.

Kind regards

Michele
