"Injury to my left foot and ribs"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / 2 East (Medical Unit)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

There was a motor accident, and someone went through a red light and hit me. Initially the ambulance crew refused to take me to hospital because the hospital is busy (3-4 hrs waiting time) and there was nothing to show on me that I had any damage, but I said I a lot of pain. After going through shock at home I as transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, but discharged after 14 hours when I still had a lot of pain on my body. Then I returned to the same hospital after a few days at home and then was finally transferred to Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital.

I feel whatever is the routine of a hospital to make sure a patient gets better has been done to me. This is my first time in a public hospital and I think the capabilities and abilities of the staff made me happy. My feeling about the hospitality and medication at Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is actually very positive.

I am sorry your initial experience with the public hospital system was not a positive one. It is pleasing to hear that you felt Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital staff were capable and their abilities ensured you were happy throughout your stay. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I trust your recovery is going well.

Kind regards

Jennie
