I am a long-term patient, having been in hospital over 4 months.
It is quite noticeable that there has been a marked decline in some services over that period, noticeably cleaning and some catering services.
Regarding cleaning, very few of the cleaning staff in this ward bother to do anything like a proper clean now. It is rare that the room is vacuumed; the bathroom is seldom mopped or cleaned properly; and a quick swish around with a duster does not constitute an hygienic clean.
We are now missing out on some afternoon or evening tea/coffee services throughout the ward at times. There was a regular person on for this who did an excellent job, but she is seldom seen now. She should be put back as an example of the good quality staff who do their job properly.
The new internet service also suffers frequent dropouts.
The nursing service remains very good as always.
