"The eye clinic"

About: Alfred Health

(as the patient),

Being of elderly vintage and having visited hospitals many times I have one comment to make and I believe is overlooked far too much and that is simple communication skills. My wife has had eye surgery for a cataract and no fault I can find with the procedure although it is not recovering as well has hoped, but we are sure it will settle down.

One aspect that puzzles me is the eye testing prior to the actual consultation with the doctor. No commentary, feedback is ever relayed to the patient as to what you are doing or how your sight rates etc. I believe patients know nothing and would not be difficult to comfort them explain more.
