My elderly Mum recently had a bad fall at our farm. She was taken straight to Merredin Hospital and admitted through Emergency Department. Obviously Mum was disorientated, very anxious and in some pain. The staff in emergency were amazing, particularly Tracy-Lee, who reassured Mum and dealt with the injuries she had suffered. I was absolutely amazed at how wonderful she was at caring for our Mum with great empathy all the while remaining very professional! Mum had a 2 night stay in the ward before being transferred to Perth. In this time she had the highest quality of care from all of the nursing staff - again, Tracy-Lee, Rick, Kaitlin, Estelle, Jemma and Sipi -you are all amazing nurses, caring and never too busy to reassure and nurse your patients with the greatest of care. Dr Mark was wonderful and Mum speaks very highly of you to us all, and is extremely grateful to you for the treatment she received. The support services staff were fantastic as well, always putting a smile on Mum's face. Thanks to everyone involved in Mum's care and keep up the fantastic work you all do under the pressures involved in the health system. Our family certainly appreciate all your hard work! !

Thank you for taking the time to share your mother’s positive experience with the Merredin Health Service through Patient Opinion

It is always pleasing to hear that our staff’s compassion, empathy and professionalism is appreciated. It is especially pleasing to hear staff took extra steps to ensure your mother was reassured at all times, as presenting to an Emergency Department can be very stressful.

WA Country Health Service Wheatbelt staff pride themselves on the high quality of service they provide to patients, families and carers not only on an individual level but also as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure all patients receive the best care in the best place throughout their stay.

I will take great pleasure in passing your appreciation on to Tracy-Lee, Rick, Kaitlin, Estelle, Jemma, Sipi, Dr Mark and the support services staff.

Again thank you for taking the time to share your experience and I hope that your mother is doing well on her journey back to good health
