About: Maroondah Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Emergency after experiencing chest pain. I was worried about whether it was my heart or not. I felt like a burden to the hospital staff, but was reassured by everyone I had contact with that my concern was valid and I was made to feel welcome and supported during my time in the department. The staff were kind and professional and supportive, explained the care they provided at every step of the process, and provided pain relief in a timely manner as well as tending to my other needs without complaint. I could not speak more highly of the nurses and doctors who cared for me, the orderlies who took me for my tests and provided a hot cup of tea, the ward clerk who recorded my personal details and the radiographer who x-rayed my chest.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback on Patient Opinion. This must have been a terribly difficult and stressful time for you and I am so pleased to read how the staff supported you and treated you with courtesy and kindness.

Emergency Departments such as at Maroondah Hospital are very busy places and it is great the staff were able to take the time and provide you with the explanations, information and care you needed.

I hope you are now well on the road to recovery and it will give me great pleasure to share your feedback with the teams at Maroondah Hospital, particularly those working in the Emergency Department, the orderlies and also the those in Medical Imaging.
