(as the patient),

We recently have had a few visits to Geraldton Regional Hospital. First to the emergency department with my toddler a few weeks ago after a fall resulting in a broken femur. The doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing and caring. Ensuring we understood everything and were okay. Having to be transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital, I couldn't fault their amazing care no matter how busy it got right up until we left. I can't thank them enough for looking after my little toddler.

Secondly the recent birth of my second child. The midwives and staff on maternity ward were beyond amazing. The care and compassion those wonderful ladies have is another level of special. You definitely don't just feel like another number. We dealt mostly with the most amazing midwife Erin who ensured from the minute our journey began with the maternity ward before being admitted that I was looked after and was always okay. She really made our experience more than just a hospital stay. She will definitely hold a special place in our family being there for the delivery of our little baby.

Firstly congratulations on the birth of your baby and may I say thanks for taking the time to share your experience on Patient Opinion in what must be a very hectic time – new baby and toddler! I was so pleased to read your lovely compliments about the teams at the Geraldton Hospital Emergency Department and the Maternity ward. I know our staff strive to provide compassionate patient centred care and they will be chuffed to hear your feedback. I will take great pleasure in providing your feedback to senior management and the teams at the Emergency Department and Maternity ward with a special mention to Erin.

Thanks again for taking the time to write, Patient Opinion allows us an opportunity to respond and direct your feedback to the people that can effect change and to our staff that are working on the front line.

I wish I could remember the names of the emergency staff. Was on Thursday the 20th of July in the evening if that helps.

They are definitely a great bunch of people working there.
