"Recent Kalgoorlie visit"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus

(as a parent/guardian),

Staff at the hospital were very helpful and everything was well explained, we had to wait but we were told when we got there that the minimum waiting period would be an hr+, so we waited patiently and watched a movie on the TV screen. When they finally got a bed for my child, we went in but the room was very dirty. It seemed as if someone was in the middle of cleaning it and they just left. There were thick, sticky marks on the basin and a lot of other things on the bed side table, this wasn't pretty at all.

Dear Hospitalvisit10,

I was saddened to hear of your experience with the room your child was placed in. I have looked into this matter and can find no explanation for why the room was unprepared. The Hospital has a long and proven history of maintaining very high cleaning and infection control standards, so I can only see this as a rare and unexpected event, but nonetheless disappointing. If you consider contacting me directly on (08) 90805710 and providing more specific information regarding dates and times, the hospital can look into the matter in more detail and be in a better position to explain it. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, this kind of feedback helps us immeasurably in improving our services. I hope your child is on the mend and the rest of your experiences at the hospital were positive.

Kind Regards

Carol Erlank
