To all of the staff at Darnlee, and yes that includes you, I ask that you pause for a moment and join me in reflecting on how wonderful you are. You opened your arms and welcomed my dear mother into your home. At every moment you have gone above and beyond and yes, it really does make a huge difference. It really is the little things that you do every day that feel like the really big things - the warm smile, reassuring huge gentle manner. These are just some of your qualities that open our hearts. As you go about your daily duties, it is the way that you take to them that has truly warmed our hearts. Mum felt so welcome and beautifully cared for, and she has blossomed in your care. Mum beams when she glowingly speaks about you.

Please know that what you do and how you do it has a beautiful effect on us. Like radiant ripples in a pond, every act of kindness is noticed and together they form a wave that washes through us and touches us deeply. I met many of you during Mum’s stay, and there are many I didn’t meet in person, this message is still meant for you too, because like any awe inspiring symphony, it is every part that joins to make the whole and it is synergy that creates harmony. I trust that you have let this heart felt message into your heart, and know that you are wonderful.

Many thanks for so kindly sharing the story of your experience at BlueCross Darnlee. Your words are truly wonderful and reinforce what is just so important to our residents and their families. I couldn’t agree more that it’s the little things that matter every day and make a difference for us all. I will take great pleasure in sharing this story with the BlueCross Darnlee Residence Manager, Amanda Fieldhouse, who I know will also be most pleased to share this with all of the staff. Your kind words are sure to give them an extra spring in their step and I certainly feel very proud of the care they have delivered to you and your mum.
