"Why stop a valuable service?"

About: Community And Family Support Service (CAFSS) - Drug ARM - Fairfield

(as a service user),

I have been attending the Drug Arm in Fairfield for some time now, and they have really helped me.

The staff have listened to me and taken the time to understand me. I suffer from severe mental illness and their care has made me feel good again.

Unfortunately it seems that they are closing this service down, and this makes me really upset. It feels like with them closing down, I will have lost all the hard work that we’ve done and that I’ll have to start again.

The government really needs to wake up, because they don’t realise that closing these services down hurts people like me, who the service really benefits.

Thank you for your feedback and support, it is very much appreciated.

It must indeed feel like a loss to you with the closure of the service, particularly as you say, you have worked so hard and made real progress during your time there. It also sounds like the relationship you had with your workers was a really helpful relationship.

It is sad when services close and people that had significant impact on our lives move on, it can be a real difficult time of transition. I would encourage though you to stay the course because I am hopeful you will find that the changes you have made are in fact very real changes.

I trust too that, prior to the closing of the service, your workers would've worked with you to support and connect you to other services, I would really like to encourage you to reach out and connect there and build on the achievements you have already made.

I wish you all the very best for you future.
