"Emergency Department"

About: The Northern Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Elderly patient admitted into emergency, later transferred to ward. Was asked to take all valuables and leave their clothing and shoes under bed. I left hospital mid afternoon. Patient admitted into ward later that day, upon the patient investigating their belongings they realized their boots were gone. The patient reported to nurse and I contacted emergency department staff to notify them of lost item, no one has ever contacted me. I have called on numerous occasions asking for medical updates etc, no one was able to give me any answers. Recalling the patient's stay in emergency, one doctor commented on the boots and how nice they were and they seemed to be their size, am I to assume that the doctor later went back to help them-self?

There is no way I will incur any bills unless the $140 boots are found. Needless to say the patient will be discharged of the Northern without shoes or medical information - at least they will be alive.
