"The first experience with Sydney Eye Hospital"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

I was given an appointment after 3. 5 years waiting in the list, but that is ok.

I was happy with nurses in the general eye clinic, and they answered my questions patiently. However, I suggest to clarify the approximate waiting time to be spent on the day of appointment on the letter. Moreover, if the rule which is not arriving earlier than 15 minuets for your appointment, is written on the letter will be more convenient.

My uncomfortable experience was that I was not aware of the specialist's delay for one hour which caused slowness in visiting all patients with the registrar. Therefore, it would be better, if the nurse lets the patients know when the doctor has delay for more than 15 minutes.

Thank You.

Dear Delay,

Thank you for using Patient Opinion to provide your feedback regarding your experience waiting to be seen in the eye clinic. I am pleased to hear that you were happy with our nurses in the clinic. Thank you for your suggestions on how we could improve the waiting times by letting our patients know; not to arrive earlier that 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment and if there is a delay in seeing the doctor. I will discuss your feedback with the Nurse Unit Manager of the clinic to review and talk to the staff.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Kind regards,

Carolyn
