"Possible damage to hand at X-ray"

About: Perth Radiological Clinic - Armadale Hospital

(as the patient),

Recently I attended Armadale Hospital W.A. to have to have an x-ray on a hand that I had fractured and which was in a plaster cast. The x-ray was the result of a doctor's referral and the plan was to gain admission to a fracture clinic.

The radiologist, in an effort to place my hand to her satisfaction, did so with somewhat forceful manipulation - apparently unconcerned about the fact that the hand was tender and causing me pain. I even stood at different angles to try and accommodate the procedure and was given no direction like - stay still or  O.K. relax. In fact I consider that I was treated with unprofessional indifference.

The result of this was that by the time I got home my hand was a lot more painful than usual and I had to take pain killers that night. As of this date (the day after the x-ray), as well as having pain in the hand, my exposed index finger and thumb have swollen considerably.

I am concerned that damage has been done to my hand and I object to the brusqueness of my treatment.
