I arrived in Perth from overseas recently. In the early hours of the next morning, I woke up to a chest pain that refused to go away even as I tried to get back to sleep. Alarmed, I went to the A&E at the Royal Perth Hospital, which was just a short walk from the hotel where I was staying.
I was attended to immediately, and received warm and professional care from every member of the staff, although it was about 3 am in the morning. It was clear patient care and welfare came first regardless of who the person was, and the fact that I was a foreigner with only a passport for identity did not matter. After 4 hours of tests and observations, I was told there wasn't a serious problem, and I was cleared to continue my planned vacation in WA.
I want to thank the A&E staff at Royal Perth for the care I received. In particular Dr Ellen, whose empathetic treatment was heart-warming (excuse the pun!). I have just received the bill for the treatment, which I will pay with gratitude immediately.
May I also add that my wife and I, together with her sister and brother-in-law, thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in WA, driving a rented 4x4 from Margaret River to Coral Bay. I will have great memories of WA, the huge open spaces and friendly big-hearted people in a wondrous land. Thanks!
