My mother was recently admitted after a fall at her aged care facility. The staff - doctors, nurses and paramedics, gave my mother all the fine care, respect and attention we could have asked for.
Luckily there was nothing broken, but the thorough testing and professional approach to the needs of a very elderly woman in pain and distress were superb.
The fall happened about 11pm and by midday the next day my mother was home in her room after an all clear by the doctors and a staff physiotherapist. Had she not been OK to travel home, she would have been promptly admitted to a ward for further testing and care.
My family cannot thank you enough for the care, warmth and efficiency that my mother received during her time in the Emergency Department. Please pass this message on to the team in the ED.
