"More privacy and comfort needed in Day Surgery"

About: Royal Perth Hospital

(as the patient),

Horrible!

Waited for ages in a waiting room with not enough seats before finally being brought through to what I believe was the most disgusting area I saw in this hospital!

In my opinion, I’m sure war-torn emergency hospitals have more privacy and comfort!

Forced to wait on one of 31 chairs in an open room with people having blood taken or changed into gowns etc.

Dear Patient10373,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Royal Perth Hospital.

I would like to apologise for what was a less than desirable experience for you. RPH is a busy inner-city hospital and attends to a multitude of people each and every day which takes its toll on the infrastructure. However, this does not excuse a poor environment for our patients and their families.

I have requested an urgent meeting with our facilities management team and our senior executive who look after this service stream to address your concerns and to look at ways we can improve the areas you have identified for our patients, their family’s and carers.

Thank you again for contacting me through Patient Opinion as your shared experience will help us deliver a better service in the future.

Yours sincerely

Dr Lesley Bennett

A/Executive Director

Royal Perth Bentley Group
