"No show Specialist"

About: Mount Hospital

(as a carer),

I took my elderly mother for her heart specialist appointment. We live 100km away from the hospital so we needed to find 1/2 way accommodations as she gets very tired and is in a lot of pain. We arrived at the hospital early to find parking, as that is always an issue.  We find parking 1/2 km away, of which my mother had to walk, stopping along the way as she struggled to breath. We made it to the hospital. Finally arriving at the floor required and we were told that he wasn’t in today, but they would try to see if he was even in the hospital. We left a little upset as we did not receive any communication saying the appointment was cancelled.  Just a little info my elderly mother has: COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) and myositis autoimmune disease, which is attacking her muscles. So for her to walk that far was very hard to say the least.
